Rep. Stephens engages with community at multiple events across district

Rep. Stephens recently participated in several events across the district, engaging with the community and honoring significant milestones.

A notable celebration was held for Marie Bertsch's 106th birthday. "We had a wonderful time celebrating Marie Bertsch’s 106th birthday! We are so grateful to have Marie’s kind spirit and uplifting smile in our district and were happy to celebrate such an incredible milestone with her," Rep. Stephens expressed gratitude towards Ascension Living Resurrection Village for hosting the event.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation's 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit visited the Village of Rosemont, offering tours led by first responders who shared their experiences from September 11, 2001. Rep. Stephens' team appreciated this opportunity, stating, "We truly appreciated being able to hear the stories from these first responders and thank the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Village of Rosemont for setting up such a fantastic experience."

Ridgewood High School hosted a celebration highlighting its international partnership with New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust in Manchester, England. The collaboration benefits students with special needs through technology, adaptive athletics, and performing arts. "We were blown away by the work this partnership continues to put forth and were delighted to meet so many wonderful students," remarked Rep. Stephens' team.

At the Eisenhower Public Library Community Wellness Fair, various local organizations showcased services available in the area. Rep. Stephens acknowledged the library's efforts: "We had a great turnout and appreciate the Eisenhower Public Library for their continued partnership and for setting up such a fantastic event."

In Springfield, the Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial & Firefighting Medal of Honor Awards Ceremony took place, honoring those who have made sacrifices in service. Rep. Stephens commented on their bravery: "The brave men and women who have served on the front lines to keep Illinoisans safe are more than deserving of recognition for their bravery and dedication." He extended his gratitude to all firefighters: "Thank you to all of the firefighters here in Illinois for your resilience, selflessness, and heroic work you do."
