Former Illinois State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) criticized State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) for supporting Illinois House Bill 5152, which would create a $500 tax credit for certified doctors and teachers who move into the state from places with greater restrictions on abortion procedures and education requirements.
“Rep. Cassidy and her allies consistently vote for tax increases, fees, and government mandates that pile on the backs of Illinoisans,” Morrison told North Cook News. “Cassidy and her allies just helped kill off an education tax credit that actually helped impoverished Illinois kids and families.”
“But Rep Cassidy and her far Left allies finally landed on a tax cut that she could champion because it rewards those with a depraved drive to harm human life. It’s a tax cut for practitioners who literally cut up healthy human beings for profit,” said Morrison. “Those lauding this bill are the unashamed advocates for no-restriction elective abortions and elective genital and bodily mutilation of otherwise healthy adults and even minors under the guise of ‘medical care.’ It’s just bizarre and unconscionable that these are the types Rep Cassidy and her allies want to draw to Illinois and provide a tax benefit to boot."
Tom Morrison (R-Palatine), served in the Illinois House from Jan. 2011 through Jan 2023. He currently serves as VP of Recruitment and Training for the Mokena-based Big Tent Coalition.
