Analysis: Buffalo Grove pays $3.55 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Buffalo Grove Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.6 percent of the $2,445,551 the Buffalo Grove Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.55 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Buffalo Grove contributed $1,897,969 to the fund, which saw a $35,309 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $533,534, or 21.8 percent, in 2018. Another $14,048 came from other unspecified sources.
