Analysis: Evanston pays $6.66 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Evanston Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.9 percent of the $12,033,013 the Evanston Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.66 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Evanston contributed $10,462,704 to the fund, which saw a $210,996 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,570,309, or 13.1 percent, in 2018.
