Analysis: Palatine pays $4.77 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Palatine Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.7 percent of the $5,655,277 the Palatine Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.77 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Palatine contributed $4,675,335 to the fund, which saw a $139,353 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $979,942, or 17.3 percent, in 2018.
