Analysis: Skokie pays $4.27 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Skokie Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.6 percent of the $5,986,809 the Skokie Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.27 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Skokie contributed $4,825,390 to the fund, which saw a $763,089 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,129,163, or 18.9 percent, in 2018. Another $32,256 came from other unspecified sources.
