Analysis: Wilmette pays $6.43 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Wilmette Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86.5 percent of the $3,177,434 the Wilmette Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.43 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wilmette contributed $2,750,000 to the fund, which saw a $140,331 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $427,374, or 13.5 percent, in 2018. Another $60 came from other unspecified sources.
