City of Prospect Heights issued the following announcement on May 25.
The Prospect Heights Police Department has received reports of residents receiving fraudulent telephone calls from individuals representing themselves to be from the Police Department or Police Union.
These calls are scams.
The Prospect Heights Police Department and Police Unions DO NOT call residents to solicit for donations.
If you receive a call from someone claiming to be representing the Police Department or Police Union looking for money, hang up and call the Police Department to report the fraudulent call.
