Analysis: Buffalo Grove pays $4.19 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Buffalo Grove Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81 percent of the $2,673,342 the Buffalo Grove Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.19 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Buffalo Grove contributed $2,166,040 to the fund, which saw a $72,720 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $516,422, or 19.3 percent, in 2016.
