Village of Glenview Board of Trustees met August 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Patterson called the Village Board of Trustees meeting to order at 7:30 pm

1.Roll Call

Present: Trustees Britton, Hinkamp, Jenny, Khoja, White

Absent: Trustee Karton

Also Present: Village Manager Formica, Village Attorney Patt, Deputy Village Manager Owen, Planning Manager Rogers, Assistant to the Village Manager Troxell, Recorder McDonagh

A quorum was present.

2.Flag Ceremony

President Patterson led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

3.Approval of Minutes: July 18, 2017 regular Board of Trustees meeting

Trustee Britton motioned to approve as presented seconded by Trustee White.

The motion carried by a unanimous voice vote.

4.Report of the Village President

Announcements:

The Glenview Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group is sponsoring a food drive to help replenish the Northfield Township Food Pantry. The Village of Glenview and its five fire stations are among 40 participating Glenview businesses with boxes set up to receive food items. Visit glenviewchamber.com for more information.

Join the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Illinois to learn about lifestyle choices that help keep your brain and body healthy as you age. A GLENergy program at no cost is scheduled for 1 pm on Friday, August 4, at the Glenview Public Library, 1930 Glenview Road.

The Village of Glenview is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 am to 3 pm on Friday, August 4th at Village Hall, 2500 East Lake Avenue. Contact LifeSource for an appointment or just walk in.

6.Report of the Village Attorney

Attorney Patt requested an executive session to be held at the close of regular business tonight to discuss (1) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific Village employees (2) probable, imminent or pending litigation (3) purchase or sale of real estate by the Village.

Trustee Britton motioned to approve the executive session seconded by Trustee Hinkamp.

On roll call:

Ayes: Trustees Hinkamp, Jenny, Khoja, White, Britton

Nays:None

Absent:Trustee Karton

Motion carried

7.Report of Special Committees: None

8.Public Hearings: None

9.Consent Agenda

Deputy Village Manager Owen read the consent agenda.

a.Old Business

i.Second consideration of an Ordinance amending the Glenview Municipal Code – establishing no parking restrictions on Fir and Grove Streets. Approved – Ord. No. 6090

ii.Second consideration of an Ordinance amending Chapter 54 Planning and Chapter 98 Zoning of the Glenview Municipal Code regarding proposed administrative review provisions associated with the Appearance Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Plan Commission. Approved – Ord. No. 6091

b.New Business

i.Consideration of the approval of the voucher list for August 1, 2017. Approved

Trustee Britton moved to approve the consent agenda as presented, seconded by Trustee Jenny.

On roll call:

Ayes: Trustees Hinkamp, Jenny, Khoja, White, Britton

Nays:None

Absent:Trustee Karton

10.Old Business: None

11.New Business

a.First consideration of a special event Ordinance temporarily restricting vehicle traffic on roadways and residential streets surrounding St. Catherine Labouré Church, 3535 Thornwood on August 20, 2017. Approved

Mr. Troxell reported on the proposed August 20th closure of roads around St. Catherine Labouré Church during the processional for the installation and consecration of the shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The restriction relates to Thornwood Avenue to Imperial Drive, to Executive Lane to Bellwood, Lane and back into the church via Longmeadow Drive for the safety of the parishioners during the processional. The roads will reopen once the processional passes.

Trustee Britton appreciated President Patterson’s attendance as the highest ranking Village official.

Trustee Jenny motioned to approve as presented seconded by Trustee Britton.

The motion carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Due to the unanimous vote to approve, this item will be on the August 15, 2017 consent agenda.

b.First Consideration of an Ordinance for a multi-family variation for lighting at Sunset Village at 2450 Waukegan Road. Approved

Mr. Rogers reported that the Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval of a multi-family zoning variation to install 32 new light fixtures generally located in the middle of the Sunset Village neighborhood at a height of 20 feet rather than a maximum of 14 feet, as required. The Appearance Commission approved the designs, which also include the reuse of existing lighting around the perimeter of the site at a height of 25 feet.

Trustee Britton motioned to approve as presented seconded by Trustee Jenny.

The motion carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Due to the unanimous vote to approve, this item will be on the August 15, 2017 consent agenda.

13.Adjournment

Trustee Jenny motioned to adjourn to executive session at 7:38 pm seconded by Trustee White.

The motion carried by a unanimous voice vote.
