Park Ridge zoning commission reviews planned developments

The city of Park Ridge Planning and Zoning Commission met Oct. 11 to review planned developments.

Chairman Baldi called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

II. Approval of Minutes

On a motion by Commissioner Coyle, seconded by Commissioner Mills the Commission

AGREED to approve the minutes from the September 27, 2016 meeting, as submitted.

Vote on the motion as follows

AYES 4 Chairman Baldi, Commissioners Coyle, Giannetti, Hanlon,

Mills

NAYS 0 None

ABSTAIN 0 None

ABSENT 5 Commissioners Arrigoni, Argionis, Bennett,

Zamaites

The motion passed.

Chairman Baldi introduced the new Commissioners, Rebecca Mills and James Hanlon.

Zoning Ordinance Review – Section 5 – Planned Developments

Chairman Baldi provided background of the Zoning Ordinance review process.

Mr. Brown, Interim Community Preservation & Development Director summarized his memo

regarding Planned Developments and provided suggested changes.

Mr. Branham provided examples of planned development from other communities.

The Commission discussed the Planned Developments. They stated improved language would

be helpful, as would potential thresholds which would initiate a Planned Development review

and /or limiting the exceptions which would be permitted. They also stated an improved staff

consultation process would help with assisting applicants.

VI. Adjournment

On a motion by Commissioner Coyle, seconded by Commissioner Mills , the Commission

AGREED to adjourn the meeting.

ABSTAIN 0 None
