Four public service agencies will discuss programs at tomorrow's meeting.
Four recipients of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) will attend the Schaumburg Community Development Block Grant Subcommittee meeting at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 16.
The four agencies will provide an overview of their programs and answer questions from members of the subcommittee. The meeting will be held in Conference Room C.
CDBG funds are granted to public service agencies. The 2015 program year saw 11 Schaumburg agencies funded to assist low and moderate-income residents. Representatives from the Children's Advocacy Center, Children's Home & Aid, Fellowship Housing Corp. and Suburban Primary Health Care Council will appear before the subcommittee. The four agencies received grants ranging from $2,000 to $6,900.
The Children's Advocacy Center assists abused children and their families with counseling and other support services, as needed, while Children's Home & Aid provides subsidized child care services. Women and children receive help from the Fellowship Housing Corporation's transitional living program and other services. The Suburban Primary Health Care Council assists residents with subsidized health care services and prescription drugs.
The remaining seven agencies will present their programs and services to the subcommittee during the next two meetings of the group, scheduled for Feb. 29 and March 15.
