The Village of Streamwood recently received the Certificate of Achievement from the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association.
The Illinois Government Finance Officers Association awarded the Certificate of Achievement to Streamwood for its annual financial report. The Streamwood board announced the honor at its regular meeting on Dec. 17.
The board heard President Roth's report on the successful Holiday Helping shopping at Target, during which 20 families received assistance. He also reported that School District U46 and Streamwood High School received certification from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills. Only a few schools in Illinois have received this certification.
The board discussed several items, including the first reading of the 2016 salary ranges for non-union village employees. Village Manager Sharon Caddigan presented the pay ranges and pointed out that the maximum increase is three percent.
The board heard the second reading of a special use permit for the Crazy Crab Restaurant at 270 N. Barrington Road. The permit allows the restaurant to serve alcoholic beverages. The board also approved the contract with Automatic Fire Systems to install a fire sprinkler system at Fire Station No. 1. The cost will not exceed $42,516 and will be covered by a federal grant.
