The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Proclamation will be read at the Elgin City Council meeting tomorrow.

In preparation for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations this weekend, the MLK Proclamation will be read at tomorrow's Jan. 13 Elgin City Council meeting.

This coming weekend will feature the annual Prayer Breakfast, a public program at the Hemmens, the Youth Day of Service and a food drive.

The council will approve the Consent Agenda in one vote unless a council member or citizen wishes to further discuss any items. If so, those items would be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered separately.

The current Consent Agenda includes an agreement with Tyler Technologies Inc. for a software maintenance agreement and addendum, two resolutions regarding the stormwater management easements in the Graber Subdivision, the Elgin Image Commission Recognition Awards and a map amendment for 980 Lambert Lane.

The council will hear minutes from boards and commissions, including the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Cultural Arts Commission, Fire Pension Fund, Heritage Commission and Committee of the Whole.

The council will also hear reports on the electricity tax, natural gas tax and alcoholic liquor tax revenues before adjourning. The next meeting of the Elgin City Council will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 27.
