The ETSB discussed the costs of training the new telecommunications operator.

The Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) of Elgin reviewed the training expense for a new telecommunications operator at its Sept. 17 meeting.

The new hire will bring the staff to 100 percent capacity. The PowerPhone certification will be reimbursed up to $750 for three disciplines when the new employee's training is complete.

The board also reviewed and authorized payment of the current invoices, including the AT&T invoice from Sept. 4 through Oct. 3 for $4,505.24; State of Illinois Central Management Services for $5506.40; and the ESRI Renewal Quotation from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31, 2016, for $1,500. The board heard the status of the E9-1-1 Telephone System, Fund 220 and a budget activity report.

The board meets at 3:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Law Enforcement Facility. Its five members are Chairman Bill Wolf, Thomas Crawford, David Hudik, Philip Laier and John Mayer. The board members are appointed to three-year terms by the mayor.

The board's primary duties include planning, coordinating and supervising the Emergency Telephone System.
