Arlington Heights Housing Commission reviews grant applications.
Arlington Heights Housing Commission discussed applications for both group home and transitional housing grants at Tuesday’s meeting.
Group homes Clearbrook, Glenkirk, St. Coletta of Wisconsin Inc. and Little City Foundation had applied for funding. Total funding available through the program is $21,915.
Clearbrook requested $13,000 for a new roof; Glenkirk applied for $15,000 to remodel two bathrooms; Little City Foundation asked for $21,915 for various remodeling projects; and St. Coletta applied for $4,000 to help pay for a new roof. The group homes are all located in Arlington Heights.
The commission reviewed each proposal, contractor’s bids and photographs of the areas in need of renovation or replacement. The commissioners discussed the grant applications for each facility. All four group homes provide living accommodations, support and services to developmentally disabled adults.
Because Chairman Hellner’s wife is an employee at Clearbrook, he did not participate in the discussion.
The commission also discussed the single family rehab program before moving on to new and other business.
