Mount Prospect Centennial Commission hears reports, brainstorms new projects.

The Village of Mount Prospect Centennial Commission heard reports on a variety of projects, followed by a brainstorming session for ideas and comments, at its Jan. 6 meeting.

After the introduction of the new Randhurst representative, Dale Henricksen, the commission moved on to its reports. Updates on the website, social media and the Centennial app for social media were reported on by Lindsay Rice, Mike Skowron and Christy Watychowicz. The commission also heard updates on school efforts, sponsorships and the fire hydrant painting project.

Sharon Anderson shared the plan for the evening of the upcoming meeting with clubs and organizations, which is scheduled for Feb. 18.

The commission also discussed a permanent memorial, the reenactment ceremony and evening and international events.

The next meeting of the Centennial Commission is scheduled for Feb. 3 -- the public is invited. If a person has a disability and wishes to attend the meeting, please call the Village Manager’s office at 847-392-6000 or email mthanopo@mountprospect.org to request alternative accommodations.
