Analysis: Harwood Heights pays $7.40 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Norwood Park FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88 percent of the $1,694,882 the Norwood Park FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.40 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Harwood Heights contributed $1,491,855 to the fund, which saw a $604,766 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $201,455, or 11.9 percent, in 2018. Another $1,572 came from other unspecified sources.
