The Streamwood, Illinois Board of Trustees recently held a public hearing on the 2016 operating and capital improvements budget.
The public was invited to testify at the hearing through a public notice published on Nov. 11 in the Streamwood Examiner. The budget is available for review at the Village Clerk's office by any interested residents.
Anyone who wished to speak was invited to sign in to testify at the hearing. The Village Clerk reported to the board that no one had signed in and there were no letters or other written testimony.
Village Finance Director Mary Johnson reported at the public hearing that the Village is financially stable and no new fees or taxes were added to the 2016 budget. She reviewed the goal-setting sessions, which provided a guide to plan the $57 million budget. The anticipated revenues are approximately $55,000 more than expenses in the Village budget. The board moved $1.4 million to several funds, leaving a balance of $9.8 million in unassigned funds for 2015 and 2016.
The public hearing was adjourned with no public comments made to the board.
