The upcoming Skokie Village Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, as the usual date was adjusted for a holiday observance. The agenda includes several items for discussion and recognition.

Proclamations will be issued to mark Polio Eradication Awareness Day and Extra Mile Day. The meeting will also feature the swearing in of new firefighters, Jack King and Michael McFarland.

Awards from the Beautification and Improvement Commission will be presented during the session. Additionally, CP2 Consulting will provide a presentation on community engagement data collected as part of the Village’s strategic planning process.

The Board will consider a recommendation to create both a Housing Fund and a Skokie Housing Land Trust. An overview of the Village’s Community Solar Program is also planned.

One of the ordinances up for consideration would amend the Village Code to allow more residents to serve on the Appearance Commission and the Telecommunications and Technology Commission. It would also rename the latter as the Technology Advancement and Transformation Commission.

For those interested in a full list of agenda items, the October 21, 2025 Village Board Meeting Agenda (PDF) is available online.

Residents can watch Village Board meetings live on SkokieVision cable TV channels (Comcast 17 and RCN 25) and on the Village’s YouTube channel.
