Raja Krishnamoorthi, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 8th district since 2017, publicly expressed criticism regarding national security and administrative issues through a series of tweets. His comments addressed concerns about the Trump administration's practices, difficulties faced by federal agencies, and transparency from high-level officials.

On March 26, 2025, Krishnamoorthi shared his concerns about the use of insecure communication methods by Trump Administration officials. He stated, "As I told @chrislhayes, it's unconscionable for Trump Administration officials to share classified information over Signal because, by using an insecure channel for the information, they're leaving it open to our adversaries, which puts our sons and daughters in uniform at risk."

In another tweet on the same day, Krishnamoorthi criticized the impact of budget cuts on federal agencies, notably affecting the Social Security system. He wrote, "This is the result of gutting federal agencies: people who need assistance face the Social Security website crashing 4 times in 10 days with no one available to answer their calls. Illinoisans are being hurt by Elon Musk’s reckless and dangerous cuts."

Krishnamoorthi also reported issues regarding transparency within defense and intelligence services on March 26, 2025. He asserted, ".@SecDef and others lied and withheld key information from the Senate Intel Cmte yesterday. They each put our nation and service members at risk. That’s why I’ve called for a full investigation — more to come at our HPSCI hearing this morning. We need accountability NOW."
