Raja Krishnamoorthi, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 8th district, has recently shared his views and activities through a series of tweets. Krishnamoorthi, who succeeded Tammy Duckworth in Congress in 2017, continues to engage with constituents and address significant issues.

On March 15, 2025, Congressman Krishnamoorthi expressed his support for allowing new parents to vote via proxy. He stated: "If demanding that new parents can vote via proxy is 'stubborn,' then sign me up. I’m proud to join my colleagues from both parties in signing this discharge petition to get this legislation to the floor of the House."

The following day, on March 16, 2025, he announced his presence on a new social media platform: "I want to connect with Illinoisans on every platform, including on Bluesky! I hope you can join me there."

Later that same day, Krishnamoorthi commemorated the victims of the Atlanta spa shootings that occurred four years prior. He remarked: "Four years ago, eight people—including six Asian women—were killed by a gunman in a senseless act of hate. As we honor the lives lost in the Atlanta spa shootings, we must reaffirm our commitment to standing up to xenophobia, prejudice, and anti-Asian hate."
