Raja Krishnamoorthi, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 8th district since 2017, recently shared his views on various political and social issues through a series of tweets. Born in New Delhi, India, in 1973, Krishnamoorthi moved to the United States where he completed his education at Princeton University and Harvard University. His recent posts address topics ranging from presidential actions to local community development.

On March 12, 2025, Krishnamoorthi criticized the use of the White House lawn for commercial purposes. He expressed concern over what he perceives as an inappropriate act aimed at benefiting the President's largest donor. "It’s deeply inappropriate to transform the White House lawn into a commercial for a private business to help the President's biggest donor."

The following day, March 13, 2025, Krishnamoorthi commented on President Trump's stance on Medicaid. He noted that despite Trump's previous promises to support Medicaid, there was no mention of it during a lengthy recent address. This omission is seen by Krishnamoorthi as indicative of potential policy shifts towards cuts advocated by Trump's allies. "President Trump has promised to 'love and cherish' Medicaid. Yet, in his address last week, he didn’t mention Medicaid once in 100 minutes. As I wrote in Newsweek, that silence speaks volumes as his allies advance cuts."

Later that same day, Krishnamoorthi highlighted positive developments within Chicago and its surrounding areas. He pointed out the thriving nature of these communities as more individuals are taking advantage of opportunities available in this region known as the Heartland. "Chicago and our surrounding communities are thriving as more people embrace the opportunities in the heart of the Heartland."
