On March 4, 2025, Krishnamoorthi expressed concerns about increasing grocery prices due in part to avian flu. He criticized the lack of action from President Trump and hoped that the president's forthcoming address would prioritize substantial issues over partisan politics. However, he remained skeptical about this possibility: "With grocery prices on the rise partly due to avian flu, President Trump has done nothing to address it...But I'm not holding my breath..."

In another tweet posted on March 5, 2025, Krishnamoorthi praised Steve Powell for his long-standing advocacy for working families in Illinois as UFCW Local 881 President. He noted Powell's attendance at the presidential address and reiterated their joint commitment to fighting for lower grocery costs and improved healthcare access: "For 40 years, UFCW Local 881 President Steve Powell has advocated for Illinois working families."

Later that day, Krishnamoorthi commented on President Trump's lengthy joint address. Despite its duration of 100 minutes—the longest in history—Krishnamoorthi pointed out that Medicaid was not mentioned once. He highlighted potential impacts of proposed budget cuts on Medicaid which could affect healthcare for millions in Illinois: "Trump’s joint address last night was the longest in history...His budget slashes Medicaid and could impact the health care of 3.4 MILLION Illinoisans."
