Manager Pavlicek opened the meeting highlighting a memorandum sent to the Board proposing that every two years, after a municipal election cycle of the Village Board, the Board would hold a special meeting styled as a “retreat”. The intent would be to further better communications between Board members. The retreat would be in addition to the legal training for elected officials. Manager Pavlicek asked for feedback.

President Ciesla responded that she favored a retreat and felt it would be really helpful. Trustee Ross asked if it is an open meeting. The answer is yes. Trustee Israel answered that the press may or may not attend.

Attorney Elrod stated that the meetings should be held in a reasonably accessible location, within the Village or nearby. Local options were suggested.

Timing of the event was discussed. Some of the Trustees were open to a Saturday event, while others were not. After discussion, the Board agreed to hold a retreat workshop on a Wednesday evening, to be determined at a future date, before Labor Day weekend, beginning at 4:30 or 5 p.m.

Manager Pavlicek asked if there would be a quorum present for the June 27, 2023 Board of Trustee meeting. It was confirmed there will be.

A sign-up sheet was made available for the Fleet Maintenance Tour in Wheeling on Friday, June 16th at 1 p.m. The tour will last approximately one hour.

Communications Manager Nicholas Glenn was complimented on the videos made for the Fire Station, Police Station and Public Works Garage.
