Gubernatorial candidate Gary Rabine and lieutenant governor candidate Aaron Del Mar are hosting a meet and greet for voters on April 14.
"Please join us this Thursday (April 14th) for a Meet & Greet with Gubernatorial candidate Gary Rabine and his Lieutenant Governor, Aaron Del Mar! Come out and learn how the Rabine Campaign plans to reform & rebuild Illinois!" the Rabine campaign said in a text promoting the event, which is also posted on Facebook.
The meet and greet is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Hackney's on Lake, located at 1514 E. Lake Ave. Glenview. The event is hosted by T.J. Brown and the Northfield Township Republicans. Rabine, the host, bills himself as a "Conservative businessman and job creator who is running for Governor of Illinois," according to the Facebook post.
"My experience as a business builder and raising my family in Illinois has prepared me to take on the challenges we face," Rabine stated on his website. "I'm the true outsider who can bring real reform to Springfield and bring back the Illinois American Dream. I hope you'll join me!"
Rabine is based out of McHenry County. He has been a constant critic of Gov. J.B. Pritzker. He excoriated the governor over his stance on continued masking in schools.
Rabine owns the Schaumburg-based Rabine Group. In addition, he hosts the podcast DitchDigger CEO, in which he shares his experiences as a businessman and interviews others about theirs. His seven companies span "facilities real estate industry in commercial Paving, Roofing, Doors and Docks and Snow Removal" and "technology businesses serving the Natural Gas industry, the Real Estate industry and Municipal industry.," according to his LinkedIn page.
Turning Point's Charlie Kirk has endorsed Rabine for governor, Prairie State Wire sported. He is part of a crowded group of contenders for the June 28 primary, including State Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia), Aurora mayor Richard Irvin, former state senator Paul Schimpf, Jesse Sullivan, Max Solomon, and Emily Johnson.
