APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:

Request the Board approve the Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of March 17, 2022 as presented.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Trustee Thon/Trustee Baumer

A-22-043 Ordinance – Special Use Liquor – 7-Eleven

Request the Board approve an Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR THE SALE OF PACKAGED ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOR OFF PREMISE CONSUMPTION IN A C-2 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL DISTRICT 1062 E. SCHAUMBURG ROAD.” This Ordinance is being presented for a first reading and posting.

This Ordinance approves a Special Use Permit to allow for the sale of packaged alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption for 7-Eleven at 1062 E. Schaumburg Road.

I-22-001 Development Update

General update on recent development activity in the Village provided by the Community Development Department.

LEGISLATIVE – Trustee Haque/Trustee Schmidt

A-22-044 Motion – Cybersecurity Services Agreement

Request the Board authorize the purchase of the Sophos Managed Threat Response Standard (MTR), to protect the Village from viruses, malware, and ransomware, from our preferred vendor, Computer Discount Warehouse (CDW), at a onetime payment of $27,400.

This motion enables the acquisition, installation, and deployment of enhanced cybersecurity software and services.

I-22-002 Information Item – April is Distractive Driving Awareness Month

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Texting, eating, or scrolling through social media while driving takes your attention off the road. Doing so can have deadly consequences. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 3,142 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver during 2019. The Streamwood Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies around Illinois to urge drivers to focus on the road.

Request the Board approve the semi-monthly expenditures in the amount of $1,403,938.22 which represents the total of the schedule of bills dated April 7, 2022.

A-22-040 Ordinance – Amending the 2021 Budget for the Village

Request the Board approve an Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 2020-30 TO PROVIDE FOR YEAR END ADJUSTMENTS OF THE 2021 OPERATING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS BUDGET.” This Ordinance is being presented for a second reading and passage.

This Ordinance approves the 2021 budget adjustments, which include expenditures not anticipated when the original budget was prepared.

A-22-041 Ordinance – Approval of Disposal of Surplus Equipment

Request the Board approve an Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PRIVATE SALE, OR TRANSFER OF SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF STREAMWOOD.” This Ordinance is being presented for a second reading and passage.

This Ordinance approves declaring various items surplus and authorizing the disposal of these items by private sale, trade-in, donation, or to otherwise discard them at the least cost to the Village.

I-22-003 Information Item – Art Appreciation Around the World

The Community Relations Commission is hosting its annual Art Appreciation Around the World event. This free exhibit will be held at the Poplar Creek Library on Saturday, April 9 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and will feature displays of two- and three-dimensional art created by local artists and includes paintings, woodwork, jewelry and more. Artists will be present to discuss their work throughout the afternoon.

A-22-046 Resolution – Professional Engineering Services – Woodland Heights East Watermain

Request the Board approve a Resolution entitled “A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE A CERTAIN PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CIORBA GROUP, INC. TO PROVIDE PHASE I AND PHASE 2 ENGINEERING FOR THE WOODLAND HEIGHTS EAST WATER MAIN PROJECT.”

This Resolution approves the professional engineering services agreement with Ciorba Group Inc. for design engineering services not to exceed $88,062.50.

A-22-047 Resolution – 2022 Road Program

Request the Board approve a Resolution entitled “A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE LOW BID, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE CLERK TO ATTEST TO A CERTAIN CONTRACT WITH SCHROEDER ASPHALT SERVICES, INC. FOR ROADWAY

MAINTENANCE.”

This Resolution approves a contract with Schroeder Asphalt Services to perform roadway maintenance on various Village streets at a cost not to exceed $1,457,627.08.

PUBLIC SAFETY – Trustee Schmidt/Trustee Harper

A-22-048 Motion – Furniture for Police Department – KI Furniture

Request the Board approve the purchase of furniture for the police records section, from KI Furniture, at a cost of $31,797.55.

This motion authorizes the purchase of furniture for the police records area. KI Furniture is an approved vendor in the Sourcewell purchasing cooperative. Funds for this purchase are available in the Federal Equitable Sharing account.

I-22-004 Citizens Fire Academy – April 18

The Streamwood Fire Department invites residents 18 years of age and older to join our Citizens Fire Academy. This 10-week course gives residents insight to the operations of the department. Sessions are held on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm at Fire Station #31, starting April 18. Applications can be found online or at any of the fire stations; deadline to submit is April 11. More information is available on our website.
