Bartlett FPD responds to 63 fires in 2018

Bartlett Fire Protection District responded to 416 calls in 2018 - 11.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Bartlett included 63 fires - 31 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 24 other fires. The fire department also responded to five calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,153,200 in fire loss - or about $18,305 per fire.

The department also received 348 false calls, including 10 malicious calls and 338 other false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents and two were injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Bartlett Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $9,502,687 in 2017.

The Bartlett FPD Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 41 active employees and 11 retired or inactive employees, was $1,660,577 positive as of December 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $13,501 for every fire in 2017.
