ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 54: Rep. Morrison to Co-Host Property Tax Assessment Appeal Webinar

Illinois State House District 54 issued the following announcement on Sept. 2

State Representative Tom Morrison and Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak will be holding property tax assessment appeal webinars for taxpayers seeking to appeal their 2020 property tax assessments. Wheeling Township will be opening soon for appeal at the Board of Review.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional outreach seminars this year will be held online for the safety and convenience of the public and the Board of Review staff.

The webinar is also co-hosted by Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes, Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton, and State Rep. Jonathan Carroll. The hourlong session will educate taxpayers on how to file a successful tax appeal.

The webinars include a presentation by Commissioner Patlak explaining the appeal procedure at the Board of Review. Analysts will be available online via chat to answer specific questions and concerns.

This event is free to the public, and there is no fee to appeal at the Board of Review.

Taxpayers are encouraged to file an appeal online by visiting the Board of Review website: www.cookcountyboardofreview.com. Alternatively, paper appeal forms may also be picked up at the Board of Review located at 118 N. Clark Street-Room 601 in Chicago, IL.
