Analysis: Northbrook pays $4.75 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Northbrook Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.6 percent of the $4,039,866 the Northbrook Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.75 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Northbrook contributed $3,338,429 to the fund, which saw a $1,114,014 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $701,436, or 17.4 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
