Governor JB Pritzker signed Executive Order 2020-40, which allows all schools to open for limited in-person educational purposes, such as summer school, following the completion of the regular 2019-20 school year. ISBE and the Illinois Department of Public Health have developed joint guidance to support schools that wish to provide in-person summer instruction in complying with the necessary health and safety requirements. These health and safety protocols will apply in Phase 4 as well, with the capacity limit for individuals in a single space lifting from 10 to 50. ISBE will provide additional instructional and planning recommendations in the coming weeks to support teaching and learning in the 2020-21 school year.
