ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 54: Palatine Blood Drive a Success

54 5

Illinois State House District 54 issued the following announcement on May 11

State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) recently held a blood drive in his 54th District community in partnership with Palatine Township and Vitalant (formerly LifeSource).

The event surpassed its projected blood donation goal with a total 32 pints of blood collected. Surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries don’t stop during pandemics, and according to the American Red Cross, every 2 seconds someone in the US needs blood.

This past Saturday’s event also collected donations to help replenish the Palatine Township Food Pantry.

Rep. Morrison was pleased to exceed the goal and help out those in need amid the current blood shortage in Illinois. According to Morrison, “with many community blood drives canceled, and deferred surgeries beginning this week, our community answered the call!”

Rep. Morrison provided a great recap video on his Facebook page and YouTube channel.
