Mark Rice, a candidate for Illinois' Eighth Congressional District, has criticized the Inflation Reduction Act and President Joe Biden's administration. "The inflation reduction act touted by lying Joe Biden did not reduce inflation… it’s instead proven to be inflationary," said Rice. The candidate, who is set to compete against incumbent Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi in the general election, also urged the administration to "stop lying to us."

"The inflation reduction act touted by lying Joe Biden did not reduce inflation… it's instead proven to be inflationary," said Rice, according to Facebook. "This inept Democrat administration can gaslight and sugarcoat data, but the American middle class sees the truth when they go to the grocery store to provide food for their family, when they go out to eat, when they fill up their cars, when they pay their utility bills… stop lying to us. It's demoralizing and frankly people are fed up."

In a Facebook post, Rice continued his critique. According to him, "My Democrat opponent Raja Krishnamoorthi endorsed this economic failure for another four years. This shows us he doesn’t listen, he’s out of touch, and he’s frankly, just an accomplice to all the far left communist agenda and destructive economic policies driving us into a ditch."

Rice shared a video from Fox & Friends featuring television personality and business owner Kevin O’Leary. O’Leary commented on how "Biden continues to wrongly claim inflation was higher when he took office," and discussed the latest consumer price index figures. He said, "We poured a lot of money into the economy during the pandemic and that turned out to be the right thing to do to avoid a depression. But then we kept going. We probably put two trillion too much in, the Inflation Reduction Act did not reduce inflation, in fact it was inflationary... Unfortunately, the numbers don’t lie."

Rice currently serves as CEO of Energy CX and has lived in Illinois for 35 years. His leadership at Energy CX has received national recognition, positioning the company as a leader in comprehensive energy solutions. With his experience leading a team of 70 professionals in the energy sector, Rice offers a unique understanding of economic issues. His campaign website emphasizes that his bid for Congress aligns with his commitment to address concerns within the 8th Congressional District and challenge what he perceives as corruption within current administration.

The 8th Congressional District, which includes parts of northern Cook County, northern DuPage County and northeast Kane County, is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.). Krishnamoorthi was first elected to Congress in 2016 and is now serving his fourth term as Illinois’ 8th District U.S. Representative.
