GLENCOE PARK DISTRICT: FACILITY CLOSURE AND SUMMER CAMP UPDATE

Glencoe Park District issued the following announcement on May 1.

In cooperation with Governor Pritzker’s stay-at-home order extension, all Glencoe Park District facilities will remain closed through the end of May. The parks will continue to be open for walking, running, and biking for individuals maintaining social distancing. All playgrounds, sport courts, frisbee golf, and outdoor restrooms remain closed.

GPD’s fitness, summer camp, beach operations, and other park amenities are all being evaluated based on CDC (Center for Disease Control) and IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) guidelines. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our residents, and continuing to provide exceptional services, parks, and programs.

At this time, our summer camps and programs are scheduled to take place as planned. While there are still many unknown variables, including when the state’s Stay-at-Home order will end, we are working on creative and flexible plans to ensure our participants have a safe, fun summer. Additionally, we want to reassure families registered for camp that full refunds will be given for any cancellations.

We encourage everyone in the Glencoe community to take advantage of our beautiful parks and trails, and the rich variety of virtual programming and special events we have planned. A full list of classes and events can be found here: https://bit.ly/GPDMayClasses.

We are also proud to announce that we have completed all necessary steps to open our day care facility to the children of essential workers in Glencoe. Limited spots are available, so please contact Jessica Stockl, Early Childhood Program Manager, at jstockl@glencoeparkdistrict.com for more information.
