Illinois State House District 54 issued the following announcement on Jan. 7
State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) is encouraging area senior citizens to sign up for an educational seminar about using smartphones and utilizing today’s technology. Rep. Morrison’s Senior Technology Seminar will be hosted with AT&T and will be held on Thursday, January 23rd at the Palatine Senior Center, 505 S. Quentin Road.
The presentation will begin at 11:00am and include information on using wireless devices to improve your life, keeping your phone and information safe, and helping you connect safely. The second portion of the seminar will include demonstrations, discussions, and time for answering questions.
“It is difficult to keep up with the constantly changing scope of technology in today’s world,” said Rep. Morrison. “I hope this event can help seniors in our community learn how to best use today’s technology so they can keep in touch with loved ones and learn about helpful apps that can make their lives a little easier.”
An RSVP is required for the event. To register, call Rep. Morrison’s office at (847) 202-6584.
Attendees at the seminar are also invited to stay for lunch provided by the Palatine Senior Center. A suggested donation of $3.50 will be accepted. To reserve your spot for lunch, contact the Palatine Senior Center Café at (847) 991-0022.
