City of Elgin issued the following announcement on Oct. 23.
Good news, residents! The City of Elgin has launched a new automated phone system for water bill payments. Call 311 (or 847-931-6001) ANYTIME and press "1" to make a payment or inquire on an account balance through our secure automated bill payment system.
*Make sure to have your account number ready.
If you do not have your account number, you will want to call 311 during regular business hours and press "0" to speak with a 311 Citizen Advocate who can assist you in finding your account number.
If you received a shut off notice and are calling to make a payment, and it is your scheduled shut off date please press "2." This will ensure that there is no interruption in your water service.
