The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) will host the 33rd Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) at the Hyatt Inn Regency Hotel in Rosemont Sept. 21-23.
ISRA officials touted the event as a “once-a-year chance to network, get an insider look and plan pro-gun rights strategies for the coming year,” in a press release to members.
Organizers also noted “past GRPCs have outlined victory plans and made public the latest firearms trends. They allow you a first-hand chance to hear movement leaders — and make your voice heard.”

Among the issues to take center stage at this year’s event are city gun bans, “smart” guns, concealed carry, federal legislation, legal actions, gun show regulation, and state and local activity.
While this year’s list of speakers is still being assembled, past headliners have included such speakers as Alan M. Gottlieb, Wayne LaPierre, Michael Reagan, Larry Elder, former Congressman Bob Barr and John Lott.
A few days after the ISRA gathering, gun rights supporters will gather in Dallas for the 32nd Annual Guns Policy Conference Agenda Make 2A Great Again. Co-sponsored by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and the Second Amendment Foundation, the event runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
The list of speakers includes Rick Pearson, ISRA executive vice president; Joe Tartaro, Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) president and TheGunMag.com editor; Larry Pratt, Gun Owners of America executive director emeritus; and Joe Waldron, legislative director, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
