Illinois House Speaker and Democratic Party Chairman Michael J. Madigan (D-Chicago) has reported $74,118 in July contributions to Mark Walker, a Democrat running against Eddie Corrigan to replace retiring Rep. David Harris (R-Arlington Heights) in the 53rd House District.
The total reflects payments made through July 22.
Payments in support of the campaign included one totaling $27,000 on July 9 paid to San Francisco-based Tulchin Research for polling. Two more, for $25,188 on July 13 and $21,930 on July 21, were to a printer in Philadelphia, as reported by the Illinois Democratic Party to the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).
The contributions bring Madigan's all-time total support of Walker to $725,403.
Walker represented the north suburbs in the state House from 2009 to 2011. He was ousted by Harris in 2010.
