Rosemont Fire Department responded to 282 calls in 2017 - 41.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Rosemont included 53 fires - 18 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 29 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $72,450 in fire loss - or about $1,367 per fire.

The department also received 228 false calls, including six malicious calls and 222 other false calls.
