Mel Thillens, the GOP candidate who lost his bid in 2016 in the 28th Senate District, recently was elected president of the Park Ridge Park District Board.
The April 19 election saw Thillens, the board's vice president, replace Jim O’Brien, who had completed four consecutive terms in that office. Other park board officers include Vice President Harmony Harrington, Secretary Jim Janak and Treasurer Jim O’Donnell.
Thillens is a long-time Park Ridge Park District commissioner and operates his family-owned armored car business, Thillens Inc.
