Jillian Bernas, the Republican candidate in the 56th House District, is calling out Rep. Michelle Mussman (D-Schaumburg) for the incumbent's lack of action to reveal the names of officials accused of ethics complaints.

“The 27 complaints filed against legislators with the Office of the Legislative Inspector General over the past three years still have not been released despite the appointment of an inspector general,” Bernas said in a Facebook posting Wednesday. “Michelle Mussman has been in office for seven years, and during her time there she has done nothing to change this toxic culture.”

Bernas, who is running in the 56th House District, which includes Schaumburg, Hanover Park, Roselle and Elk Grove Village, said the lack of action means there may be up to 27 people whose voices are not being heard.

“Instead, she (Mussman) has chosen to protect Springfield insiders instead of fighting for the voiceless,” Bernas said in the posting. “Enough is enough. I am running so that people have a voice in Springfield and to promote more honesty and transparency in how our government operates."
