The village of Palatine Committee of the Whole met Sept. 12 to award a street resurfacing contract.

Consider a Motion to Award a Contract for the 2016 Micro-Surfacing Program - Approved by Voice Vote (Council District: Multiple) Minutes September 12, 2016 VILLAGE OF PALATINE Page 3 Public Works Director Matt Barry explained micro-surfacing extends good condition of relatively new pavements an additional 5-8 years at one-fourth the cost of resurfacing. Barry recommended awarding the 2016 Micro-Surfacing Program contract to the low compliant bidder to resurface five streets to, AC Pavement Striping Company of Elgin Illinois, in the amount of $70,371.54 RESULT: APPROVED BY VOICE VOTE [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Jim Schwantz, Mayor SECONDER: Doug Myslinski, District 3 Councilman AYES: Schwantz, Millar, Lamerand, Myslinski, Solberg, Kozlowski, Helms 2. Consider a Motion Authorizing the Village Manager to Execute a Proposal for Design Engineering Services for the Wilke Road Water Main Replacement - Approved by Voice Vote (Council District: Five) Public Works Director Matt Barry explained the proposed engineering services to prepare for the replacement of the Wilke Road water main, including site surveying, County permitting, plan development, and specification preparation for bidding purposes. Barry recommended authorizing the Village Manager to execute the proposal from Robinson Engineering of Itasca, Illinois for design engineering services for the Wilke Road Water Main Replacement in the amount of $29,450. RESULT: APPROVED BY VOICE VOTE [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Kollin Kozlowski, District 5 Councilman SECONDER: Scott Lamerand, District 2 Councilman AYES: Schwantz, Millar, Lamerand, Myslinski, Solberg, Kozlowski, Helms 3. Consider a Motion to Reject all Bids for the Village's 2016 Water Main Extensions Project - Approved by Voice Vote (Council District: One) Public Works Director Matt Barry reported that during a required monthly test Well #6 near Harper College developed a leak. Repairs to Well #6 take priority over the 2016 Water Main Extension Project (which can be added to the 2017 Budget); therefore, rejecting the 2016 Water Main Extension bids would allow resources to be placed toward essential repair of Well #6. Consider a Motion Canceling the September 19, 2016 Regular Village Council & Committee of the Whole Meeting and Authorizing the Village Manager to Sign the Warrant List for September 19, 2016 - Approved by Voice Vote Due to few agenda items, Village Manager Reid Ottesen recommended canceling the September 19, 2016 Regular Village Council & Committee of the Whole meetings and authorizing the Village Manager to sign the September 19, 2016 warrant. Hillside, stated he has drainage problems from neighbor who built a landscape wall over a year ago causing flooding in his sceptic field. Patrick Brankin stated this is pending litigation; therefore, no comment can be made.
