The fiscal year 2017 Chicago Executive Airport budget was approved at the March 21 board meeting.

The Wheeling board met on March 21 and approved the Chicago Executive Airport fiscal year 2017 budget.

The village and the City of Prospect Heights have an intergovernmental agreement regarding the organization, operation and maintenance of the airport. The agreement requires approval of the budget by both municipalities. The total airport budget for fiscal year 2017, beginning on May 1, is $5.6 million.

In addition to the airport budget, the board reviewed two resolutions regarding the Arlington Club sanitary sewer force main repair. The contracts were with Maneval Construction Company for constructing a new 10-inch HDPE force main and Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. for engineering services. The sanitary main requires replacement, as it has leaked and sewage has entered the storm drain system and creek. While repairs were made to the existing ductile iron pipe, continuing to repair the pipe is not cost effective.

The water main pipe at Carpenter Avenue, Shepard Avenue and Glenn Drive also needs repair. Public Works selected the pipe for replacement in 2017. The board reviewed the resolution for an engineering services contract with Haeger Engineering LLC, which includes the water main replacement, street resurfacing and sidewalk construction.

The board also amended the fiscal year 2015 annual budget and authorized the official zoning map for the village. The zoning map includes corrections and zoning changes made in 2015.
