Planning of the 2016 Buffalo Grove Farmers Market commenced at the Jan. 20 meeting.
The 2016 farmers market planning began at the Village of Buffalo Grove Farmers Market meeting on Jan. 20, during which time the committee brainstormed and discussed new ideas for the opening day handouts.
The committee reviewed and discussed last year's farmers market. Updates to the vendor invitations were discussed. The new invitations will be sent out to returning vendors. The committee also talked about the new farmers market shirts, which must be ordered before the market begins in June.
Entertainment ideas for market days were discussed. Generally, farmers markets have a variety of entertainment available -- from live music provided by local bands to face painters and children's puppet shows. Educational activities, such as arts and crafts, cooking and gardening demonstrations, are also found at many farmers markets.
Before adjourning, the committee asked for comments from the public.
