Des Plaines rolls out new online business renewal program

Computerkeyboard

The City of Des Plaines, Illinois recently announced it has rolled out the new online business renewal program.

On Dec. 21, the post office began delivering the 2016 business registration and other license renewal forms. Rather than mailing the forms or going to City Hall, business owners can respond online.

The online program allows businesses to renew their licenses, pay their fees online and print their certificates. Businesses can access the online forms at www.desplaines.org/RenewLicense.

“We are taking business license renewals to the next level,” Director of Community and Economic Development George Sakas said. “The city wants to cut the time and expense for business registration and licensing. Online renewal offers businesses with existing unchanged licenses to quickly renew, pay for, and print out temporary licenses until they receive the original in the mail.”

As a part of the roll out, business owners are invited to participate in an online survey at www.desplaines.org/cedSurvey. The results will help the city find new ways to support the business community. Business owners can also ask for a meeting with a city representative.

In addition to the license forms and survey, a form to change emergency contacts and alarm company information will be included in the business registration mailing.
