The Village of Buffalo Grove has received the 2025 Best in Governance Award from Polco, a recognition given to local governments considered among the most trusted in the United States. Buffalo Grove is one of five communities nationwide to earn the “Voice of the People: Transformation” award, which highlights significant improvement in resident perceptions regarding transparency, honesty, fairness, and confidence in leadership.
According to results from the 2025 National Community Survey, Buffalo Grove saw major improvements since its 2021 survey. These areas include overall direction of the village, welcoming resident involvement, confidence in village government, and economic health.
Comparing Buffalo Grove’s ratings with other U.S. communities shows that 41% of its scores (50 out of 122) were higher than national benchmarks. The remaining 59% were similar to these benchmarks; none were lower.
