Village of South Barrington Architectural Control Commission met Aug. 27

CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Rafferty called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

Staff present: Village Administrator Dropka and Building Officer Damian Michalski
Others present: Members of the Public at Large
MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner McCombie to approve the minutes of the June 25, 2025, meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Saller. On a voice vote, the motion was approved.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
AGENDA ITEMS
1) Patrick Graham from Divine Signs & Graphis presented the proposed sign drawings for Club Five Health located in the Arboretum. Chairman Rafferty led a discussion on the proposed sign for the outside of the building, including the types of materials that are planned to be used, the use of the letter 'V', and the window wrappings. Discussion ensued, and Patrick answered further questions that the Chairman and Commissioners had.
Motion was made by Commissioner Bodkin, seconded by Commissioner Kwasek to recommend approval of the proposed signage for Club Five Health located in the Arboretum of South Barrington as presented. On a roll call vote, the motion was approved unanimously.
2) Representatives from Plymouth Brethren Christian Church were present at the meeting. Chairman Rafferty led a discussion on the plans that were presented to the commission. Discussion ensued with the representatives from Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, and detailed questions were discussed regarding the project. Final architectural plans which include front, back, and side elevations of structures, exterior pictures, exterior and final landscape plans, sign designs, and sample building materials will need to be presented to the commission at a later date.
Motion was made by Commissioner Crosby, seconded by Commissioner Kwasek to recommend preliminary approval of the plans as presented. On a roll call vote, the motion was approved unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT
At 8:00 p.m., a motion was made by Commissioner Kwasek, seconded by Commissioner Bodkin to adjourn the meeting. On a voice vote, the motion was approved unanimously.
