Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, representing Illinois' 8th district since 2017, has shared insights on social programs and historical figures through a series of tweets. Known for his educational background from Princeton University and Harvard University, Krishnamoorthi continues to engage with constituents on various issues.

On February 11, 2025, Congressman Krishnamoorthi expressed the impact of social programs on families striving for middle-class status. He stated, "I know firsthand how much difference these programs can make for families as they work their way into the middle class."

The following day, February 12, 2025, he addressed a controversial statement made during a hearing by quoting it back to its source. He remarked on Twitter: “Is poverty harmful for childhood? I think not.” I was quoting the witness back to himself and he really made that argument.

Later that same day, Congressman Krishnamoorthi commemorated President Abraham Lincoln's birthday by reflecting on his legacy and expressing pride in representing Illinois in Congress. He tweeted: "On this day in 1809, President Abraham Lincoln was born. I’m proud to represent the Land of Lincoln in the House and work to follow in the footsteps of a true American legend and one of the greatest statesmen the world has ever seen."
