Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, representing Illinois' 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared his views and activities through a series of tweets over two days. Krishnamoorthi, who has a background in law with degrees from Princeton University and Harvard University, addressed various issues ranging from LGBTQ rights to consumer protection and democracy.

On February 10, 2025, Congressman Krishnamoorthi expressed gratitude for participating in the Equality Illinois Gala as it coincided with the upcoming 10-year anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges. He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for LGBTQ rights in Congress as Vice-Chair of the Equality Caucus. "I was grateful for the chance to join the Equality Illinois Gala this weekend as we approach the 10-year anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges. As a proud Vice-Chair of the @EqualityCaucus, I’m determined to keep fighting for the rights of all LGBTQ Illinoisans in Congress."

Later that day, he highlighted concerns regarding efforts to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which he credits with protecting Americans from financial scams and fraud while saving families billions annually. He emphasized that shutting down such an agency could be both detrimental and potentially illegal. "The CFPB helps protect Americans from scams and fraud and saves families billions of dollars. Shutting down this agency is a mistake. Shutting it down like this might also be illegal."

On February 11, 2025, Krishnamoorthi addressed broader concerns about democratic governance, criticizing those in power who may not fulfill their responsibilities due to fear of contradicting influential figures like "the richest man alive." "Our democracy doesn’t work when many of those in power aren't doing their jobs because they're afraid of crossing the wishes of the richest man alive."
