On January 31, 2025, Congressman Krishnamoorthi commented on an incident at National Airport. He stated: "What happened at National Airport on Wednesday night was a tragedy. Using it as a tool to baselessly attack opponents and programs you disagree with is a disgrace and so far below the dignity of the office of the president."
The following day, February 1, 2025, he expressed concerns about U.S. trade policies with allies. He tweeted: "The ChineseCommunist Party loves it when we tariff our allies like Canada…The CCP also loves it when we create chaos in our country through federal funding freezes…we gotta stop these unforced errors."
On February 2, 2025, Krishnamoorthi highlighted potential risks to community programs due to funding decisions by former President Trump. He asserted: "Counseling programs for sexual abuse victims, gun violence programs, and infrastructure improvements would all be at risk in our communities thanks to Trump’s funding freeze. I’m committed to making sure all funding is allocated properly and in full."
